Day of the Dead

Originating in Mexico but celebrated all over the world, Day of the Dead is a vibrant holiday taking place every year on November 1st & 2nd. During these festive two days, friends and family gather in remembrance of loved ones who have passed. Intricate altars honoring the deceased are decorated using beautiful sugar skulls, marigolds, photos, and food intended to entice the deceased back to earth.  In addition, people paint their faces with vibrant colors and patterns, load their hair with flowers, dress in costume and take to the streets with lively music and decorations.  Though celebrations vary from city to city, each is sure to be a spirited, happy event that will have you feeling more alive than ever.
